Old fillings
Old Silver fillings do not last forever.
It is a common misconception that once a tooth has been filled it is good forever. Old silver fillings can last for many many years but, like any man made material, they can wear out and start to fail. When old fillings start to leak, new decay and cracks can develop.

If you are concerned about your old fillings, let us know. Together we will determine which ones may be leaking, or if your old fillings are cracking your teeth.

The new restorations are not only strong, but they look great too!

Laser Cavity Detection
Because you can not treat what you can not see, Laser Cavity Detection enables Dr. Jenkins to quickly diagnose decay, and thus prevent extensive damage to your teeth.  Diagnosing decay in an expeditious manner also saves you, the patient, both time and money by helping avoid the costly and time-consuming dental treatments that pervasive decay requires.

Diagnodent provides us a significant diagnostic advantage and helps us to monitor and protect your teeth where they are most vulnerable. This non-invasive, painless tool is used for detecting tooth decay that is not yet visible and would otherwise be undiagnosed by conventional methods alone.  With the flouridation of water and improved oral hygiene standards, the very nature of tooth decay has changed.  Due to these factors, most of our patients have harder and more resistant tooth enamel, which can conceal even aggressive decay if it is under the tooth surface.

Sealants
Dental sealants (also known as "tooth sealants") can play an important role in helping to prevent tooth decay ("cavities") in some locations on teeth. The placement of dental sealants involves Dr. Jenkins bonding a plastic coating into the grooves of your tooth (the tooth's pits and fissures). The result is a smoother tooth surface, which is less likely to trap food and plaque. It will then be easier to clean with your toothbrush.
